there’s been so much on my mind these days, but one thing that I find myself thinking about more than ever is interior design.

truth be told, I think a lot about the scene in fight club where the protagonist ends up blowing his apartment up after curating his space for the longest time, and that has kept me from really diving into that.

that aside, there’s a lot about that sphere that I really respect. there’s a lot of self expression in your space even if you don’t decorate the way you like, that’s indicative itself it seems like.

how would I want to decorate MY space?

I keep coming back to shows like Severance and Mr. and Mrs. Smith (Amazon Series). these two shows are the only ones in recent memory that I can really point to and say that I really like the way personal space was highlighted. I think emulating some of these core aspects to my space would be such a cool development. in Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Jane’s room is one of my favorites. the kitchen is actually insane, and I cannot grasp how they were able to make the lighting work with all of the colors and pieces within the shot. there is so much to learn. being intentional seems to be the first step.

I am putting this here and now to force myself to do this on my next post; I will be going in depth into 1 specific piece and how I am using translating that into my own art as I am developing it. until then, take care of yourself and push yourself further.
